By train

There are two main train stations in Genova: Piazza Principe station and Brignole station.
Click here to get the official train timetable.

Daily fast trains connections to the European train network: to/from Milan for Switzerland/Austria/Germany; to/from Turin for North France/Paris; to/from Nice/Marseille; to/from Rome/Naples and Pisa/Florence. Rapid connections are guaranteed by the TEE, EC and IC trains, and by connections with convenient times in all directions.

Genova Piazza Principe, usually shortened in Genova Principe and written Genova P.P., is the main station. There, people from North and West should get off the train. You can take many buses from the bus stop in front of the station. You will reach the city centre in more or less 10 min. You can also take the underground that has a stop inside of Genova P.P. station.

We suggest this train stop to get to the Conference Venue.
From Genova Piazza Principe the Conference Venue can be reached by subway (stop at S. Giorgio Station) or taxi.

Another important station is Genova Brignole. Most of the trains stopping there also stop at the Genova P.P. station. Anyway people arriving from East or South may want to get off the train at Genova Brignole and can reach the Conference Venue by bus (lines number: 12,13 and 15/)  or taxi to save time.

All the hotels suggested for the Conference are closer to Genova P.P. station.

By plane

Genova is served by the international Cristoforo Colombo Airport.
Genova airport is connected with the hubs of Malpensa (Milan), Fiumicino (Rome), Charles de Gaulle (Paris), Schipol (Amsterdam) and Munich International Airport.

A quick, reliable bus service called VOLABUS links the Airport to downtown Genova every thirty minutes. The bus arrives at the principal train station and other selected stops. Click here to get the complete Volabus timetable.

By car

Genova is connected with the main European highway network: A7 for Milan/Switzerland/Venice/Austria/Germany (called “Serravalle”); A10 for Ventimiglia/Menton/Marseille (called “Dei Fiori”, from West); A12 for Livorno/Rome/Naples.

It is suggested to leave the motorway at Genova Ovest exit. Use the so called "sopraelevata" and take the second exit on the rightside, then follow the indications to Magazzini del Cotone.

A warning for car drivers: it is definitely not easy to leave the car in the city centre. Free parking is impossible and the few underground parking lots are often full. So, the suggestion is to proceed directly to the hotel and reach the centre walking, by bus or taxi. There is a big parking at Porto Antico (Congress site), but it is not free.

PARKING

Parking is available in Porto Antico area and nearby (Autosilo and Calata Gadda).
