Title: Neural Information Processing

Hours: 8

Credits: 3

Teachers: Stefano Panzeri

Program:

This course will focus on recent advances on how networks of neurons in the central nervous system encode, process and exchange information. The students will be first introduced to the most important biological facts on neural information processing, and then they will be introduced to the analytical and modeling techniques used to get quantitative understanding of neural encoding. The course will be pitched at a level accessible both to students with background in neuroscience or biology, and to students with background in engineering or physics.
